1400 SMALL SCALE FARMERS

We are collaborating with around 1,400 small scale farmers on the idea of offering high-quality black tiger shrimps from responsible sources in a traditional manner in harmony with nature. Five groups of 25 smallholders are currently being formed in a pilot project to prepare for ASC certification.

EXTENSIVE POND MANAGEMENT

Extensive pond farming is an aquaculture method that requires little or no feed due to the low stocking density. No food is added to the "Luna Shrimp Farms" project. The animals obtain their food directly from the ecosystem.

1-2 SHRIMPS PER M²

In the Luna Shrimp Farms, we have a very low stocking density of 1 to 2 shrimps per m². For comparison: In mass aquaculture, there are up to 200 shrimps per m².
